Eastlink

EastLink is Melbourne's second tollway, comprising about 39km of freeway standard road connecting the city's eastern and south-eastern suburbs. It is also our second tollway project as we also undertook works on the Citylink tollway project.

EastLink is Australia's largest road development, providing the fast growing eastern and southern regions of Melbourne with an efficient and accessible transport network.

With a construction cost of $2.5 billion, the challenges of construction were massive.

In total, 86 bridges were built on Eastlink. We were awarded 18 number bridges within the Knox region (20% of the Project's total number of bridges). The construction period was 12 months where all bridges, were being constructed concurrently in an accelerated and rigorous manner that has never been seen before within Victoria.

Dual bridges included within our contract were; Mountain Highway, Burwood Highway, High Street Road, Wellington Road, Dandenong Creek, Corhanwarrabul Creek, Blind Creek and Ferntree Gully Road.

Single bridges were also built being; George Street and finally, Police Road.

After successful completion of our bridges in addition to remaining works, the tollway opened to traffic on Sunday 29 June 2008, five months ahead of the scheduled opening date.
