Romeo D'Amato
Romeo's career has developed rapidly where since graduation at the age of 22 years old, he became Project Engineer at 23 years old, Project Manager at 25 years old, Construction Manager at 28, Chief Executive Officer at 33 years old and ultimately General Manager/Director at 37 years old.
Since graduation in 1982 Romeo has worked for numerous reputable contractors in a wide range of construction areas such as the Petrochemical, Civil, Road, Dam, Concrete, Marine and Building Construction areas. His first introduction into construction was in the civil/petrochemical industry with oil and gas pipeline construction in remote areas of Australia. After travelling throughout remote areas of Australia, Romeo moved into Dam Construction as Project Manager, of the Craigbourne Roller Compacted Concrete Dam in Tasmania. The next step was into road and freeway construction then into structural concrete construction in the fields of sewerage and water treatment plants through to the pharmaceutical field.
In 1991 Romeo became Construction Manager for Boncorp Pty Ltd, who specialise in the construction of bridges, water treatment and sewerage treatment plants and in 1992 Romeo became Civil Construction Manager for Dynamic Engineering Construction Company Pty Ltd (DECCO), responsible for civil works. In March 1995 he was promoted to the role of Managing Director and subsequently to Chief Executive Officer.
In 2000, Romeo became an equity partner and General Manager/Director of Fitzgerald Constructions Australia.
